I’m not a big golf fan. I’ve played exactly 2 rounds of 9-holes each, 4 decades plus apart. Both times I was relieved there were no foursomes coming up behind us because it took time to get the ball going the right direction.  Nonetheless, I paid attention to the British Open, completed just hours ago; the Tom Watson story.  Could it be because, like Tom, I’m days away from turning 60?  A big “disappointment” for him to lose, but it should be some consolation to know he is the protagonist of the best golf story in ages.  As we know, sad songs say so much.  So, he missed the 8-foot putt.  He gained immortality in certain circles, or what passes for it.

  1. I read them all and enjoyed them, in different ways. They evoke a variety of ideas and feelings. Glad you are doing this.
