THE NINTH MONTH

So many Virgos. Phyllis and John and Dickie and Jeong-Hyeon and Claudia and Jim and Jamie and Liz and Kris and Marcia and Myron…happy birthdays everyone.

Fall is in the air, don’t you feel it? Notice the shortening days.  Beneath the tree ferns every surface is dusted with rust-colored spores.  Spiders string webs everywhere in the garden.

Today’s the anniversary of the Fall of the Towers, with the Super Bowl and Christmas Shopping one of our last national religious holidays. We adorn the shrine with flowers of sentiment. The fear infused through the airwaves eventually must be exorcised by violence. Blood is necessary for the ceremony.

Isis O Isis you’re a mystical child.   We hear a lot about you over here.

Cheri offers, The quality of your life is determined by the focus of your attention. Nothing’s wrong.

The rainy season is on its way.

And here as vowed, today’s seduction (rain I am paying attention to you), a snippet from “Song for the Rainy Season” by Elizabeth Bishop. If you want to do something nice for yourself today, read the whole thing.

In a dim age                                                                                                                                         of water                                                                                                                                               the brook sings loud                                                                                                                   from a rib cage                                                                                                                                   of giant fern
